The Team:
The team will
partner with a medical school near the under-served location so that there
will be opportunities for interaction between local medical personnel.
Team members
needed:
Physicians –We invite physicians in
different disciplines and specialties with a heart to share God’s love and
serve people in China.
Specialists are needed to teach at the medical school for 1-2 weeks or they
can provide a referral service with our primary care specialists in the
field. We need primary care specialists in FP, Peds and IM to treat
patients and mentor students on the field or teach at the medical school.
Our vision is that your medical career will be greatly enriched through
this experience.
Dentists – Your help is greatly needed
so that the team can provide comprehensive care to the people. We
would like to have specialists teach at the dental school. We also
need dentists to work on our primary care team. The more we can get
to go on the mission, the greater will be the range of services that can be
offered. That is less tooth pulling and more fillings
Pharmacists - The team needs pharmacists to
procure, manage and dispense medicine for the mission clinic.
Medical
technologists – The team will bring in analyzers and will need medical
technologists to perform and to teach students how to run the different lab
tests. This is a key component of the whole medical team.
Medical
technicians –
To do X-ray, ultrasound and more to be determined
Therapists – You will need to do physical,
occupational, and speech therapy. You will be able to teach local
personnel and students
Nurses – We need nurses to work with
Physicians, perform triage, and preliminary examination of patients.
Nurses will also train and work with students on basic skills of patient
care.
Other Medical
Professionals
Public Health Professionals would be appreciated. If you teach at a
medical school or are a PhD let us know we can use you. If you are in
any medical field and would like to go to China,
apply so we will put you in our data base to use If any medical school in China would
need your expertise.
Non-Medical
Personnel – Mature
Christians will serve as spiritual leaders to the team and help in all
non-medical related tasks and arrangements.
Students – We are recruiting students
18-Year or older to participate on the short-term team. There is no
medical experience needed and we will train you. You will learn how
to perform basic medical examinations, laboratory tests, and patient
interaction. You will have an opportunity to work directly with medical
personnel and best of all learn how to answer questions about Christ.
